The Basics of Fat Loss

It would sometimes that the ability to lose stored fat is an almost impossible dream. That is, no matter what an individual may do, the excess stored fat will not come off. Many times, the ability to drop excess stored fat is not really as tough as some believe. However, a lack of understanding of the fat loss process is the culprit. That is why it is important to understand the basics of fat loss prior to looking for a helpful diet or weight loss program.

Fat is the result of unused and stored calories. Calories are the energy that we derive from our food source. Depending upon our desired weight, a certain number of calories will be needed to maintain such a weight. And, of course, if you more calories that your desired weight, you will gain weight when you do not burn off the calories. Specifically, every 3600 calories you do not burn will become one pound of stored fat. That is why it is very important to watch what you eat because it is very easy to store fat vs. burning it.

For example, let’s say you normally eat 2500 calories a day in your traditional three meals. However, you decide to eat a little more today. You go to a fast food restaurant and have a large cheeseburger, fries, and a milkshake.
