New Health Care Plan?
Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010Today in America, many more of its population is in need of affordable health care. A number of employers have reduced their health care benefits because accountants are working to tighter budgets and the cost of providing this service has risen. Before this year, I had great health care with my company but it has reduced this year so I know this is the reason. Out of the blue the company decided to change their health care provider because it was costing them too much.
They said that to have a low cost health care scheme for everyone meant we would have to change companies. I do not doubt that many people will say that I am still doing alright and should not complain. To some extent I do agree, but their search for another provider now costs me double the money from my paychecks to have my husband and daughter on my policy. Ok, so many other people benefit, including my company, but my paycheck is considerably lighter now that the premium has doubled to keep my family on the policy.
Ok, so my health care is still respectable but the new company that we have is not as good as our previous. Many workers saw their paychecks reduce when this new affordable health care scheme come into force. You see, four years ago, I gave birth to a little girl and of course my old insurance paid for the whole of my hospital stay. This new plan, under similar circumstances however, would personally cost me in excess of 5,000 dollars.
However, that amount is just for the hospital and delivery because I would also have other expenses and that just doesn’t seem fair to the majority that are involved. We are now seeing an increasing number of companies creating affordable health care plans. Options now exist for people that are not supplied with a health provision where they work, and now single mothers have access to plans which they can join; some people can even have free health care. Unfortunately, there are always a few that want to ruin it for the rest and this system is prone to misuse.
